Winter is here... unfourtunatly.

You know what that means! Snow boots! They are just about the hardest thing to find.
Certain criteria:
  1. Do they have rubber bottoms?
  2. Does snow make them wet?
  3. Does snow hurt the colour on them?
  4. Are they rain proof?
  5. Do they have good traction?
  6. Are they warm?
  7. Are they cute?
  8. Do they involve animals?
So lets go boot shopping!
I was in TjMAXX on black friday and i found these cuteish boots. The only issue? They didn't zip up with the pants i was wearing, and i wear them a lot so I figured they weren't worth it, it'd just go home and buy them offline. They were $49.99, not too bad for boots.
So I got on amazon and I found my boots.

Gorgeous.
I told my mom I wanted them and she was getting ready to order them and then she checked them and you know what?
They were made of rabbit.
i was disapointed.

Then in releated items it said 'VEGAN FRIENDLY BOOTS' and i was like YES.
so these are what my new boots that are in the mail look like!

sorry for my absense!

It's been awhile! Well hello! okay first is first, PROJECT RUNWAY!

I am completely disappointed in this show that Gretchen was the person who won that I'm considering never watching again. Gretchen's collection has ALREADY been done, it's called the 1970's, as my mom would say 'granola'  nothing worth of winning.

Mondo to me was a fresh look into everything.  Michael Kors (gag) had claimed that Mondo's was too 'young' but i think MK has forgot that fashion isn't exactly for designing for the 50 year olds, i hate to say it. Also, a balding over tanned man himself, i don't know if I'd exactly trust his fashion advice.
and the only reason that Mondo's prints have been considered 'too young' is because the older population has never explored those. The older you get, the less you want to play with print. companies automatically stop experimenting with print when they become, i don't know, with the age range over 35. That needs to end, age shouldn't restrain.

I like to think that being runner up is better anyways, i mean ask Adam Lambert. Also, the only memorable designer that project runway has ever had was Christian Sirano, so I guess it's no big deal. Have fun failing in the business, Gretchen!

Shoe pain.

Has anyone just had that shoe pain that they can't understand?
I really want to get a good, nice pair of shoes that i can wear daily that don't hurt.
The shoes that always hurt me the most are the flats. Heels are the most comfortable but they don't always go with everything.

Has anyone ever considered trying the moccasin trend?

I'm considering it, but if I'm going to buy a pair I'm going to buy a pair of expensive nice ones because i can't do anymore pain. Payless has a pair of nice looking ones for $14.99 but it'd like them to last. Anywhere else I check sells them as a slippers.

Project runway!

I'm devoted to this show like the plague.
As you guys know, tonight, is part one of the season finale. instead of the normal 3, they brought 4 people to Mercedes Benz this year. Gretchen, Mondo, Andy, and Michael. Tonight Tim Gunn will visit all the contestants in their houses and preview what their collections will be. They will eliminate one of them tonight.

Personally, I think (or at least hope!) that it's Gretchen that's going home tonight. Bitches shouldn't win. When Irena won 2 seasons ago I don't think I've ever been so disappointed. Last season I was delighted when Seth Aaron won, naturally my favourite was Anthony!
'Do you know how hard it is being black, gay, and living in the ghetto?' he was so fab.

This year, sense I came home from fashion camp and caught up on the two episodes (It started my first week at camp! hella early this year!) I predicted Mondo was going to win. My heart broke when it was said he had HIV, and now I think he deserves as ever to win. Plus his crazy atheistic makes him so so so much better.

he's just fabulous in a cute little pint sized package.

so i will faithfully be watching tonight!

Modcloth's best kept secret.

After last nights/today's little adventure I don't think i'll ever, ever, order from modcloth again. a friend of mine, after telling her about my tragic boot story (the ones that modcloth cancelled after i ordered so quickly) she told me to check this one site. she said that they have lots of things that modcloth does for a fraction of the price.
I told her this better be good, she better not be getting my hopes up for nothing, and she was not.
I'm ordering in a little while from this website, i'll show you some of the same products they have on modcloth they had on this site:

nothings diffrent! I am so shocked! i'm curious how they kept it a secret so long?

The other website that i compared all the shoes to in this post is http://urbanog.com spread the word you guys! Theres a lot of other identical shoes but i could take up the whole post matching them up!

birthday weekend!

happy birthday to me! I'm 14 now! so first of all before i get into the clothes and thrifting this weekend, my mom got me the biggest surprise of my life.
i'm now typing this blog on a brand new computer. she surprised me with a brand new macbook pro! macbook pro. my other computer was a 5 year old dell. it was horrible, always ran slow and was always loosing blogs. so with this computer i think i will more likely be posting more because now its very very very enjoyable to post.

also, everyone remember my shoe post? about my beautiful butler street boots? yeah well Modcloth cancelled my order. i was so upset you don't even know. victory was so close, but yet so far away.

okay so my weekend!

my mom gave me $100 to shop. Don't bug her. plus i had $120 of my own. so i wasn't poor but i was not about to go on a coach shopping spree either. whenever we go to this mall, i always check out Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, Hot Topic, and a few others.

I already knew what i wanted at hot topic. it wasn't really fashionable but I'll tell you about it anyways. i like dinosaurs  so i bought this;
i think that everyone needs shirts and outfits that are considered relaxing days, and this is definitely one of those. i bought this because i love it and well yeah. $25 down the drain. i never pay full price for things, so that's a sign of how much i adore this shirt.

Then i went to Charlotte Russe. I needed a pair of flats because all i have is heels and all girls know that just some days you just don't want to wear heels. so picked out these ones;

I'll admit they do look a little awkward on my feet but it's not a deal breaker. $10.

i also visited H&M. They were having their big 'CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF FASHION IN THE US FOR 10 DAYS' and a few things were $10 off. it was pretty nice. they had a DJ out front and i danced when they played California Gurls and Teenage Dream.  i picked up a shit that's floral, pinks, browns, greys, greens, with rushed sleeves and a scoop neck. i love it and it was only $9.95.

this F21 wasn't very kind to me so we moved on over to a town 30 minutes away with a mall that no one goes to that has a Forever 21, H&M, and another Hot Topic. I did fabulous here.
I bought a MJ shirt at HT for $10 that's no big deal, another lazy day shirt.

This H&M always has fabulous clearance and sales. i don't know what it is but its great. i bought a white, almost a knit-spandex white shirt that has this wrap around flamingo. it was adorable and only $7. I also found a giant over sized heart face sweater full price for $9.95.
The other styles, lets say you wanted a cat or something, were $39.95, but you know, for a $30 difference i think i can deal with a heart face.

I'm known for my weird sweaters, as you guys will experience on this blog.

so then i visited the Forever 21, conveniently across from the H&M. I was first attracted to this floral cotton knit skirt. i found a brown vneck sweater and it was a little too tight. I tried a lot of shirts with the skirt but i gave up. I decided it was pointless for me to buy a skirt in October where in the mornings its already 22F in the morning. brr! i came across this sheep sweater thought i really liked (Que weird sweater numeral trois.)
another shirt i came across in the bigger mall was this cute little toast shirt! but i couldn't find it anywhere and i wanted it! i saw it very quickly at this mall and i snatched it up and ran to the dressing room. $8.80 and its mine now. it had a cute little toast on it it with a Barrett and a handlebar mustache that said bonjour. i love it and will wear it proudly.

i also picked up a lot of cute little jewelery at forever 21 i wouldn't bore you guys with. a set of hoops, robot earrings, a pair of owl earrings, an owl necklace, and an owl necklace/earring set. i love owls too and it was all so cute.

The first day we were here we also went to a goodwill. all the thrift stores i had planned on visiting we chickened out on the way there because it was in a very sketchy part of town and we didn't feel like taking our chances.
at the goodwill, i picked up these two things;

they were both $4.99 each. the GIANT owl necklace we have dated to 80's/90's were not quite sure. it's older though, its in remarkable condition. the jewelery box we cannot figure out for our lives how old it is. if you look in the owl picture that red in the back is the red velvet of the inside of the box. it has a very, very, very old 'made in japan' stamp in the back of the box. if anyone has an idea of how old they think it is let me know!

we also went to Marshalls. (LAST STORE, I PROMISE.) i couldn't find much i wanted. i started looking at winter coats because it is, after all, getting cold. then i found a Betsey Johnson coat for $80. Betsey? $80? i was so shocked. i had to hunt to find it in my size but my mom willingly bought it for me.

i decided to go take my Modcloth returned shoe money and buy a pair of boots. Steve Madden/ Madden Girl shoes preferable. I have a problem with those shoes i love them a lot, comfy and cute.

There is a whole other pile not even pictured! i tried on so many i swear they must of thought i was going to steal them! i ended up with a gray, slouchy boot.

really long post! I'm sorry! i hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!

white dresses.

So today there was nothing on tv so my mom and I have been watching wedding shows all day. Though; through all these episodes i noticed that all the brides look the same?  All of them are wearing skin tight dresses, their breasts falling out of their dresses, curly hair, and tan. So i spent the day looking at vintage & vintage inspried weddings. everything was so proper and that's when true beauty actually existed. so for now i'm going to pamper you with some of the photos i looked into.

lets bring pretty back.

shoes, shoes, shoes.

Me, like every other fille on this planet has a shoe problem. Me, living with a widowed mother (if i keep this project up you'll learn this more and more) i cant afford shoes that cost a lot. All those 15 year olds with $600 dollar shoes or designer bags or clothes blow my mind. completely. even if theyre mature. i've been the same size sense i was in 5th grade, so i understand that the things outgrow you before you outgrow it but i still can't justify spending so much on clothes. maybe if i had the money i would, but i'm still only a freshman.

I frequent modcloth a lot because their shoes are very unique. i always fall in love with the cheaper shoes thankfully for me.

theres these pair of boots on there called the Butler Street Boot and they've had them sense i'd like to estimate may. my foot is a 9/10 and they were sold out of both sizes. so whatever i would just wait for the next time for them to restock.
i remember sitting in my sleepaway fashion camp's sewing room on my ipod looking at these shoes and they were back in stock! i was so excited camp ended in 5 days. i was sad for it to end but i wanted to order my shoes. so in the hotel on the way back i was like mom i want you to order these beautiful shoes! she agreed and i got on modcloth and they were gone. i was so upset. this was mid august. the only size they they had left was a 5 and a 6. out of luck i checked today and they had 2 left and in all the luck in the world they had a size 9 left. i dont think i've ran to spend my hard earned money but i did. i'm $39.99 poorer but a pair of fabulous shoes richer.

butler street boot; modcloth.com

I'm prepared to love them, but because of my luck it'll be a pair of shoes that i'd love and they will never fit. ever. so i was looking at possibilites as a 'just in case' thing y'know?

i was looking at these shoes:

Serendipitous Sunday Wedge; Modcloth.com

Hop To It Wedge; modcloth.com

  Beneath Your Wingtips; modcloth.com

Whodunit Heel; modcloth.com

i love all these shoes so much! the whodunit heel its gorgeous because i love the blotch of colour it gives out! the oxfords i love because i've wanted a pair of oxfords so so so so much. i think they go with a lot of things because therea  classic but i'm also afraid they'll look like mens shoes in a sense but the reviews say they surely dont! The bunny wedge i think are just so adorable! i have this bunny sweater that the blog will most likely hear about sooner or later and it'd be so so so cute with that! i just think there adorable and deffintly a statement piece! the sunday wedges i think are cute because of the shape of them, and the brown leather goes with everything!
i hope i dont have to return them so lets just hope these are all canidates for my evergrowing christmas wishlist!

this is an extremly long post and i could talk about shoes forever but i think a shoes, shoes, shoes. pt. 2 post might just be in my future !

but afterall, who doesnt love shoes?

Salut mes amis!

Okay todays post is going to be really quick because its a new blog (:
I spent all of today setting it up and im super excited to star tthis, even if no ones listening.

Lately i've been really into vintage styles. Lately as in the past few months anyways. Also vintage stars! i've gotten an audrey hepburn poster to prove my love ;
she's gorgeous.

Anyways, I'll be turning 14 in a few weeks, and we're planning on going to the capital for some good shopping. (I've always said im a teenager in a twenty-somethings body) i plan on stopping at some fabulous thrift stores. for my cooking class in school because i usually wash dishes (I don't mind too much, i feel like i never do enough anyways) and i'd like something really pretty like this:
i heard they sell for about $12 in the mall which wouldn't be too bad if they're gorgeous. i'll only buy things i absolutely love, because after all they are used. i think its ridiculous when people spend huge amounts of money on clothing. vintage stuff is darling, but its still used and not worth hundreds unless you absolutely love it.

another thing i want to look out for is any cute 70's or orginal to their time shirts or cute dresses or whatever. i'll update the post when i actually do the shopping.
bye for now!
au revoir!
